Labour Costing Groups

Overview:

The groups support the remap of employee classes within the context of a Job and are referenced from Job Maintenance.

This enables the same employee to be costed and priced under different employee classes on different jobs by replacing any source employee classes in the job's labour costing group with the designated target employee class. The payroll code can be similarly substituted.

The Time transaction is priced based on the To Employee Class in the Group. The To Employee Class is recorded in the Time Transaction (not the original one).

An example of this is an Employee working at a Job site that is elevated, more risky and requires certain Employee Classes, versus the same employee working on the company-owned Workshop, where it is less risky and a more controlled environment. The Job site that is situated at a high elevation will always require exceptions on the Employee Classes, and therefore the Job will use a Labour Costing Group.
