Groups
Overview:
Groups are applied to a Group Category, which must be created before adding groups on this screen. Groups give Jobs, People, Companies, and Plant another piece of data to run reports based on.
When deciding which groups to create, be sure to consider data that already exists by default in each data type's masterfile so that it isn't being duplicated.
Screen Guide:
- Category is an existing Group Category that this group belongs to.
- Group Code is a shorthand code for this group.
- Description is the longer descriptive text for this group.
- Type determines where the category is going to be used (Jobs, People, Companies, or Plant).
- Inactive will, when ticked, prevent this group from being used for future jobs while allowing existing jobs to retain the group.
To create a new group, simple click the + New Group button.
Next Steps:
Once created, your groups can be used in the appropriate location depending on its Type.
Categories and Groups can be defaulted in individual Job Templates, potentially removing the need for manual entry.
