How to setup the financial period

 

User Document: Period End Maintenance

For System Administrator only. The periods and their statuses in Workbench must be reconciled with those in the financial software used by your organisation. If you are not thoroughly acquainted with these, please consult with your organisation's accounting or finance team.

 

 Instructions

  1. Go to the System Setup \ General \ Period ends.

  2. Choose the appropriate filters to display all existing periods on the system screen.

  3. Enter the current year, current period value.

  4. Click on Create Periods button

  5. Enter the quantity of periods from the current period until the end of fiscal year.

  6. Click on Create button. New periods will be appeared on the screen.

  7. Go to each line and edit the Year No, Period No, Period End Date.

  8. Click on Save button.

  9. Click on the desired module columns to indicate which ones have been closed for the specified period.

  10. Click on Save button when done.




Questions & answers

Within Workbench, financial period or accounting period is any time frame used for financial reporting. Transactions that fall within a given date range form part of the statements or reports for that accounting period.

Consulting the finance team within your organisation is recommended for setting up specific financial periods correctly in Workbench.
