Users
Overview:
The Users screen for managing internal employees and other users of Workbench. Unlike the People screen, this Users screen displays both internal and external individuals who have a Login, are Employees, or both. In other words, the Users screen is used to set up employees for Timesheets and/or Workbench login, while the People screen serves as a directory for third-party contacts. Users appear on the People screen but not necessarily the other way around.
Screen Guide:
The screen by default displays all active users who have a Login, but you can modify the Filter to narrow down the results or to include additional people.
If your database contains many users, you may need to use the Page buttons to move between the pages. The View count of the total is shown in the bottom right corner.
This page includes the ability to Import users from a file. The fields must match exactly for the import to be successful, and you can select between a Standard and Extended set of fields (accessed using the up arrow), the latter of which gives you more Login-based fields to fill out. Remember to download the Template for a premade file with all fields as columns.
You can add users in ways:
+ New User and setting them up from scratch,
+ From Person List to import an existing person from the People screen.
+ From Existing User to create a new user based on an existing user.
Custom views
Different roles may require access to different data of user information. Workbench provides prebuilt custom views:
HR & Payroll: This view is tailored for the Payroll or HR department, displaying details such as EBA configuration, employee class, payroll name, and other employee-related information.
IT System Admin: This view is designed for System Admins who need to access user configuration and system-related data, such as site map profiles, email addresses, login codes, and multi-factor authentication settings.
You can also create your own custom view to combine all necessary data and see it at a glance without drilling into each record. Alternatively, use the Data Dump feature to include all available fields. Read more
Next Steps:
