New retention methods can be created by clicking on the blue ellipsis button and selecting "Maintain," or navigating to Retention Codes. If you do not want to hold retentions, an appropriate zero Retention Type must be selected.
Direct Payment is a legacy checkbox that is meant to signify that the Subcontractor is paid directly rather than through the Workbench AP module. In the current version of Workbench, this field does not affect any processes.
Subcontract Currency is derived from the SubcontractorCompany currency.

---|
Make sure the Internal company of the user that is creating the new Subcontract is not flagged as Subcontractor on the Company record, as this will prevent the user from creating subcontracts. If the company of the user is flagged as a Subcontractor, that means this user is possibly an external user and should only be using the Subcontractors Portal. |
Deleting
You can delete a subcontract if it has not been used. There is a new [Delete] button that only appears in the Subcontract tab when the Subcontract has none of the following linked to it:
Works Orders,
Claims, Insurance,
Payments,
Datasheets,
Attachments,
Bonds
Note that if a Subcontract inherits Insurance from the subcontractor, these can be manually deleted from the Subcontract.
Next Steps:
Now that you have set up the basic settings of the subcontract, you may wish to enter Subcontract Dates, then assign Work Orders (Subcontract Schedules) to the subcontract to form the basis for them to claim from.
