Workbench Release Notes
Upcoming Functionality & News
New Contracts folder grouping all Contracts-related menu items
On next release you will see a new Contracts folder in the Standard sitemap (those with Custom sitemap profiles won’t have it).
This allows us to group all the Contracts-related menu items in one place, for a more logical and easier access.
Plus, we are adding a new Contract Bonds list that will allow Contract Managers to proactively manage all Contract Bonds in a centralised place and follow up on Release Dates so they can prepare requests in advance.
New Contract folder will be placed before Billing:
Contract Claims List (moved from Billing)
Contract Retention Management (moved from Billing)
Contract Bonds [NEW]
PTA Transfers (moved from Month End)

Upcoming DLL Update to v4.2 - Upvise Integration
🔄 Upgrade of the Upvise DLL to Version 4.2 in Workbench
🔧 Improved compatibility with the latest Upvise features and integration tools
📦 Support for future enhancements to the Upvise Client Library
What You Need to Do
🔹 All on-premise sites must upgrade workbench (expected v4.7.17) before 1st July 2025 to maintain compatibility with the updated DLL and ensure uninterrupted integration with Upvise.
🔹 If you use any custom external integrations (e.g. PowerShell scripts, custom tools, or applications using the Upvise Client Library), these will also need to be manually updated to reference DLL Version 4.2 before the cutoff date.
✅ No action is required for clients managed by Workbench—your systems will be updated automatically as part of the scheduled workbench release.
We recommend planning your updates early to avoid any disruptions.

New Features
New default option when navigating to a Job:
To provide more flexibility and let users decide their preferred action when clicking on a Job on the Jobs list, we have added a new setting to define the preferred action.
A new Setting ‘Default Job List Link’ will allow a System Administrator to define the default action at Global and Person level. Most popular options are likely Job Enquiry or Job Contract.
New default option is opening Job Enquiry when clicking on a Job. We hope that this change makes the navigation to your Job Contract or Job Enquiry a bit easier.
We understand that the previous default action of opening Job Details when clicking on a Job code was not the most practical one. Job Details is now an option in the elypsis menu.
Feature Revisions
Jobs Contracts
Contracts - NZ Form1 on Contract Payment Claim reports:
The Construction Contracts Act in New Zealand requires that specific text, Form 1, be included in all Contract Payment Claims to ensure the contract falls under the Act.
Users can now enable this using the new control parameter ‘Display Form 1 on Contract claim footer subreport’
When this CP is enabled (=yes), the Form 1 text will display on the subreport used on all Contract Claim reports: wbContractClaimFooterSubreport
Form 1 textbox will only display if Contract Claim currency = NZD AND if the new CP = yes.
This is backwards compatible with any existing reports or subreports where the Form 1 has been added manually. How? because the latest version of the subreport checks this new CP, however, any previous version do not, and the new logic won’t be triggered.Contract Claim reports - position of subreport:
We have moved the position of the subreport wbContractClaimFooterSubreport to be the last element on the following reports.
For text like footer notes or Bank account details, the existing Report footer settings and Report Text options are more appropriate.
Reports changed:
wbContractClaim015 - Detailed Payment Claim Certificate by Line Status
wbContractClaim017 - Detailed Payment Claim Certificate (Schedule)
wbContractClaim018 - Detailed Payment Claim Certificate (Schedule) % CompleteContract Claim reports - centre footer setting section:
Cosmetic change: The section that displays the value from Setting “Contract Claim Report Footer" has now been centered with the section above, the invoice summary.New Contract Claim process with Certified values:
To migrate to the new Contract Claim process, which captures both the original claimed values and certified values, you might require assistance from your Workbench Consultant.
The migration requires following certain steps, which have been updated. All details can be found in the Mandatory Migration Process section at the end of this document: Workbench Contract Claim Process Enhancement
The additional step is to execute a utility to populate the Certified To Date and Certified this claim values on all Claims, before the new process is enabled.
Also a fix has been made to stop the retention invoice line from being deleted when Finalising the invoice.Input/Output jobs with Contracts:
When a Job has a Contract and the billing type is Input, Output or Input/Output we have made the following changes:In Contract > Claims tab, the This Certified incl Ret column is now hidden, as this is not relevant.
In Contract > Claims tab, This Claim column value now reflects the sum of Job Invoice Lines.
Job Enquiry
Units on Details tab:
To avoid confusion, the Unit on the Details tab on Job enquiry is now populated in all rows, not only at Activity level.
Activity row: unit comes from the Activity
Cost Category: Unit comes from the Cost Category
Work Centre & Job: the unit is hardcoded to HrsAll Units are now populated on Job Enquiry Details tab
Purchasing
Job Procurement lists:
Provide an additional filter to display Procurement Lists based on their Job's status.
Plant
Plant Class - support defined Plant Rates per Plant Class
Plant Classes have been extended to support multiple rate definitions in addition to the default rate configured on the Plant Class itself, allowing valid rates to be defined per Plant Class. The Plant Rates available on Plant Class lines in Quotes and Budgets are now restricted on this basis.
Leave Management
Bulk Leave Creation enhancements
Removed inactive Locations from the dropdown menu
Removed the View Lines button from the popup screen when creating the leave requests, as this would be a link to an individual timesheet only.
Removed the "Data has been modified" pop-up that was unnecessary.
A narrower Location dropdown and moved to the same line as the filter, auto-apply when changing a Location so the correct records display for that location.
Create button was moved up to the same line as Location.
Quotes
Added Profit Centre security group to Quotes:
Profit Centre Group security is now applied to the Quotes List, and the Quote's Profit Centre is now mandatory. Where a Job was attached to the Quote, the Profit Centre will be auto populated, but where no Job is available, the Quote will remain visible to everyone until the Profit Centre is specified.
Resource Scheduler
Re-applied colours to the schedulers that were omitted in the migration. Converted the filters to a collapsible layout.
Service Logs
Service Log - update Finalise validation
The Finalise validation now checks that both PO Outstanding Qty and Value are zero before the Log can be finalised, as some clients are raising $0 POs. The PO quantity is now also displayed on the Purchased tab of Logs.
Administration
Users - tracking changes:
A 'View History' option is now available on Person and User screens to display a change history.
Upvise
Equipment Matrix Enhancements
The Equipment Record matrix has been redesigned to improve usability. New column filter functionality has been introduced, along with additional filter options in the list view — including the ability to filter for equipment with no certificates.
