Where you are a system champion and your company has multiple Upvise instances you require access to, Upvise has an “account switching” feature. This will enable you to maintain access to the different Upvise databases, whilst using the same email address. Account switching also ensures your system notifications work seamlessly and saves time logging into separate databases.

Here are the steps to configure the linked Company databases for a User to get multi-access:

  1. In each linked Company database, set a Company Name which is formatted like a Code, using only alphabetical letters, which we will refer to as COMPANYCODE. Each company has its own Code.

  2. Generate your own secret key, which can be any random string or GUID. Set this same key string in the Company Secret Group Key field in each of the linked Company databases. Make sure you store this key in a safe place, it will never be displayed in clear in Upvise.

  3. Create a first account for the User in one of the Company databases (see “Assigning a licence in workbench”), using the user's regular Email.

  4. For each of the other Company databases, add an additional user with the email formatted as: COMPANYCODE.useremail, the same user Name, and any other password.

When the user logs on with their email and password, they will see the data in the first Company database. They will then be able to switch to the other databases without re-entering an email/password: from the My account menu in the top right corner in the Upvise web interface, or the Settings in the mobile app.
