Overview:

Functionality in Workbench is delivered in modules, and users must be licenced for the modules they use.  Without a licence allocated to them, users will not be able to access the module functionality.

This is, therefore, a "named user" licencing model.

Each Workbench site is licenced for a certain number of users for each module, and this is installed on the database with a licence script.

For each module this licence count is the maximum number of users that can be allocated access to the module.  e.g. a licence count of 50 for Web Timesheets means that up to 50 users can be allocated licences to use Web Timesheets.

Screen Guide:

The allocation of module licences are managed from the Licence Management screen in Workbench.

  • First click the Licence Management menu (1).

  • Select the module to allocate licences for (2).

  • Then filter the People list to display the people you want to allocate licences to (3).  Typical filters might be Timesheet Group or Profit Centre. This process can be repeated so it is not necessary to allocate all the licences at once.

  • On the list of People check the Enable checkbox at the right for those people to be allocated licences (4). Clicking the checkbox in the Enable column header will automatically check all of the rows displayed on the page.

  • Then click on the Save button (5), and continue when presented with the confirmation message.

An error message will be displayed if an attempt is made to allocate more module licences than the licence count for that module.
