Report Types

Overview:

Report Types with a Prefix of 'Web' and that have a 'Predicate XML' are able to be entered

The 'Predicate XML' is the instruction for the Filters. The make up of the 'Predicate XML' will likely need input from Workbench Developers

Report Types that are available for Web use must be entered via 'Report Types List' (expand 'Reports' on the Site Map List).

  • New provides the facility to add a Report Type

  • Note: filtering is case sensitive

  • Report Type must have a 'Web' prefix.
    This field is the primary key in the database, so cannot be duplicated or modified

  • Description is free text entered by the User

  • Predicate XML is the instruction for the Filters and requires knowledge of the technical parameter names for the report. This is auto generated based on the report type definition in the popup.

  • Delete selects a row for deletion on Save

  • Save updates the database from the screen

 

Report Types containing '...Sheet' (example 'JobSheet' are reserved for Reporting from the 'Reports' Tab on Company, Job and Persons Lists 

Print buttons on various Screens will print one of the reports belonging to the hard-coded Report Type.

Report Type Detail

Allows user to link the technical report parameters names to the user interface filter definition.

  • The grid defines the report parameters by the option text displayed in the filter list (Option Label) to the technical parameter name (Operand).

  • Each line also defines the options available in the filter operand list for the parameter i.e. =, Is one of, Like; and the type of control to be presented e.g. Calendar, Year Period, Text, Company picker etc.

  • The applicable default value may be specified if applicable.

  • The filter parameters to display as standard are indicated by the Show checkbox, otherwise they would have to be explicitly added by the user.

  • Finally the order of the parameter to be listed are set by dragging the row to the appropriate position in the grid.
