Overview:

Timesheets must be approved before they can be exported to payroll or financial software. Workbench provides the ability to assign primary, secondary, and admin approvers for each Timesheet Group through Timesheet Authorities. Please note that there can only be one approval for each week's timesheet, although there is an optional Job Manager Approval which is useful for situations where employees work across multiple projects and not within a single supervisor's authority. If your company does not require a supervisor's approval, admin authority should be given to your payroll processing user so that they can approve timesheets before Batching Payroll or Batching Timesheets.

Timesheet Approval is the standard screen for approvers to do their weekly review and approval of each person's timesheet in their group(s). Employees will only be shown if you have the appropriate authorities given to your user.

Admin Timesheet Entry is meant for administrative users who need to see or enter time on behalf of an employee.

Timesheet Administration is a screen that has detailed information and statistics on the main page, and also gives the ability to approve multiple timesheets at once without entering each individual person's timesheet. Administrators can also see the Completed/Approved/Missing status of each person's timesheet, making it invaluable for payroll officers to check the current status of the company's timesheets as a whole.

Job Manager Approval is particularly useful for Job Managers to approve an employee's timesheet allocation on a daily basis (rather than weekly), giving each entry a tick of approval that the employee's Primary Approver will see at the end of the week. This gives confidence to the final approver that the time entered is valid and correctly allocated.
