Overview:

File groups are used to group or identify attachments on the diffenet entities in Workbench.

The Attachments screens on all entities are filtered by the entity defined on the File group. For example, a file group called Medical Records, will only be available on a Person entity (Users and People) when uploading a file as an attachments. File groups that are not relevant to this entity will not display, avoiding confusion.
